Norwegian Scatec Solar will construct three solar power plants in the south of Ukraine

Norwegian company Scatec Solar has concluded agreement with Ukrainian Rengy Development on construction of solar energy stations in the south with a total capacity of 47 MW.

This is information is stated in Scatec Solar newsletter by BusinessCensor.

According to the news, it is planned to build three plants, which will produce about 58 GWh per year. The cost of the project is estimated at about 52 million euros. It is expected that new plants will operate according to "green tariff" established in Ukraine for 10 years.

Financing is to be carried out by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) by the end of the year.

Scatec Solar will own 51% in a joint project with Rengy Development. Scatec Solar will be a supplier of engineering, procurement and construction services, as well as providing maintenance and asset management services in power energy plants.

According to the state register, beneficiaries of Rengy Development are owners of a large dairy producer Ukrproduct Group and alternative energy companies, Sergey Yevlanchik and Narek Harutyunyan.

According to company information, Rengy Development owns 68 MW of alternative power generating capacity.

Scatec Solar develops, builds, owns, operates and maintains solar power plants. Company operates solar power plants with a capacity of 322 MW in Czech Republic, South Africa, Rwanda, Honduras and Jordan and builds facilities of 1092 MW.
